About Me
- klsmith
- I've gone from living in the Ozark Mountains, to living in the Smoky Mountains and I am loving it! Life is continually changing...both good and bad, but I strive to keep pushing through in order to sleep each night and wake each morning. Photography is my hobby...I play with it and I find peace in it and above all, I love to share it~ I have lots of deep thoughts, for those who care to listen...for others, well, they'll never know or understand me to the fullest....anyway, I'm married, have 4 wonderful kids, (2 mine, 2 his), miss my momma who is in heaven, and just love....living my life.... Favorite Quote: ~Martha Washingtion~ "I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances."

Coffee, Wine, and 40
I'm learning that the nice thing about being 40 is you are finally of an age where drinking coffee every morning and wine every night is understood by so many more in your circle. You are almost given a pat on the back for it. Maybe I am a bit more excessive than others....wouldn't have thought that but for some reason, (okay, well maybe because they are the #1 and #2 topics I tend to talk about), more and more of my facebook friends post coffee or wine images to my wall. I guess on my tombstone it should read, "She loved her coffee and wine." Maybe if more people enjoyed those morning and night rituals the world would be a little calmer, a little more accepted, a little happier....at the very least, we would be a world with a lot more in common! I would have to admit I am probably more of a coffee snob than a wine snob however. You get the wrong brew of coffee and it's just nasty, plain and simple......wine....well knowing it has the alcohol content helps you forgive a not so great vintage! So as I start my day, coffee in hand, I'm already looking forward to tonight, and that beautiful glass of wine.

3 year hiatus.....oops!
Wow, how quickly time has flown! Three years have passed since last blog. I had meant to do so much better at keeping up, but, here I am. Well, no time like the present to start anew and continue on!
Much has happened in the last several years. Kids have grown, two graduated high school and are now part of the adult working world. My marriage has endured trials, and has become the strongest and most viable part of my life. I rely on the support and love of my spouse. When it seems no one else forgives, he simply does.
Started a new job two years ago. First time in my life to waitress. It came easily as with me, everything is common sense, and guidelines are there to follow. Due to my willingness to overachieve (as always), I am now the manager at this same restaurant. I have gained many local and visiting guests as friends that make me smile in my heart. This is what life is about after all. Making connections with others and being someone they think of in a positive manner. People come in and out of your life all the time, and there is always something to be gathered and gained from their knowledge and friendship. Sometimes that is learning what NOT to do!!!
Hmmmm....yes, the last three years also included turning 40. Must say, it was not something I looked forward to. But thanks to great genetics (thank you mom and dad), I still get confused as a 20 something year old. I would just settle for that year 36. Good year and good times! So, in another month or so, it will be on to 41 and at this point I am just happy to be healthy.
Have branched out with my hobbies. Photography and painting. As a lot of artists, I am still very sensitive about my work. But, at 40, I have started to own that what I do is a reflection of me. It's not about the opinion of others. It's simply about searching my soul and finding the things that help me sort through the daily grind of life, and simply, being me.
